BRITAIN’S Got Talent fans are convinced they’ve got the science behind The Phantom’s super-scary act sussed.
The new series of the ITV reality show kicked off in spook-tacular style with the ghostly auditionee, who chose judge Amanda Holden, 51, as his victim.
The presenter, clad in a pink latex dress, moaned: “It’s always me,” as she was ordered to join auditionee The Phantom on stage.
Initially, she was left visibly shaken as the red balloon she was holding – similar to that from the horror movie It – burst suddenly of its own accord amid the creepy trick.
The radio host looked distinctly uncomfortable as she was summoned to the stage by a sinister voice, who instructed her to hold the balloon.
The ghoul continued: “They thought it was a gust of wind. It wasn’t. It was me, I stole it.”

After the balloon popped, the unseen act added: “You might think it was rather mean to burst a balloon like that, but losing things is an important part of life.”
Amanda’s fellow judges Alesha Dixon, Simon Cowell and David Walliams were seen looking on in awe and trepidation as the act moved on to the next part of the trick, which saw a piece of chalk centre stage.
She was asked to place the item on the board before it spelled out the word ‘keys’, presumably of its own accord.
It chimed with the fact she picked up a bunch of keys earlier in the episode.

Yet BGT fans were hugely sceptical, with many thinking they had things sussed.
One took to Twitter to post: “What a load of rubbish 
the chalk moved from the centre to the side of the board without making a mark. And no way did she pull a big set of keys out 
#BGT.”
Another employed their knowledge of science as they put: “Chalkboard with magnetic track behind it and a magnet in the chalk – they filmed the scene in Matilda the same way.”
A third then agreed: “Chalk is a magnet.”
One then mused: “Are we just ignoring that the chalk started in the middle of the board and then was suddenly top left?… #BGT.”
An ITV viewer then suggested: “Got the crew to turn the chair electronically same with Amanda’s Buzzer going off an obviously, chalk and a magnet on the board most boring contrived load crap I’ve seen on #Bgt.”
Another proffered a: “BGT trick magnet blackboard £15 from Amazon.”
Amanda has since revealed she can barely remember what happened during the spooky audition.
“I’ll be honest, I can’t really remember what happened,” the 51-year-old recalled.
“One minute I was on stage and then the next minute I was asleep, and Alesha was like, ‘Well, you just did this and I was like, ‘No
I didn’t.'”
“He obviously had control over my mind because I guessed
exactly whatever Alesha picked, even though I didn’t see.”
