ANTONIO Sorgentone – having won Italy’s Got Talent just a few months ago – is now looking to showcase his musical skills on Britain’s very own The Champions.
But before he graces the stage TONIGHT, with high hopes to be crowned the ultimate champ, here’s all we know about the multi-talented star.
Who is Antonio Sorgentone?
Antonio Sorgentone is a 37-year-old pianist from Abruzzo.
He ended up winning the 2019 edition of Italy’s Got Talent, triumphing his competition in the last episode on March 22 with his exceptional musical skills.
Antonio, who deems the late Renato Carosone as his favourite musician, grew up in a house where almost everybody in the family could play an instrument.
And at the age of 10, he decided to commit all of his attention on his music career, which later led him to enter Italy’s Got Talent.
His audition was so well received that record producer Mara Maionchi ended up awarding him with a Golden Buzzer, which instantly sent him straight to the live semi-finals.
What makes Antonio’s performances so unique is that he can also play the piano with his feet, which was something that all of the judges were heavily impressed by.
Prior to winning his series, he was already among the favourites to win the competition, and it went without saying that when Antonio graced the stage, he showed up and showed out.
Antonio also became a big hit on YouTube, having amassed over 1 million hits with his live semi-final performance on Italy’s Got Talent earlier this year.
Meanwhile, his first audition, which was uploaded in January, 2019, has surpassed over 1.7 million views in quite a short amount of time.
